Who we are
MineVinyl is operated by fordz0 (“we”, “us”, “our”). The website is accessible at minevinyl.com. For privacy-related enquiries, contact us at hello@minevinyl.com.
What data we collect
Audio files: Files you upload for conversion are processed entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. They are never transmitted to our servers and are discarded from memory when you close or refresh the page.
Analytics: MineVinyl does not currently use any analytics or performance-monitoring service. We do not track your visits, build a profile of your activity, or measure your behaviour across pages. If this changes in future, this policy will be updated before any such service is enabled, and any tracking that is not strictly necessary will remain subject to your cookie consent choice.
Advertising: MineVinyl is not currently serving ads. We intend to display advertisements served by Google AdSense in the future; when ads are enabled, Google may use cookies and similar technologies to personalise ads based on your browsing history where permitted by your consent and applicable law. See Google's Privacy Policy and ad personalisation settings.
Consent storage: We store a single first-party localStorage value (mv_cookie_consent) to remember your analytics and advertising preference. No first-party cookies are set for this preference. Google AdSense may set third-party cookies in the future if ads are enabled and you have consented where required.
Server logs: Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process standard technical request data (such as IP address, user-agent, and timestamps) as part of delivering and securing the site. This processing is carried out by Cloudflare as our infrastructure provider and is necessary to serve the website and protect it against abuse. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning service as the legal basis for this processing.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR / UK-GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for advertising cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner or by emailing us.
- Legitimate interests — for security and debugging logs retained by our hosting provider.
Your rights (EEA & UK users)
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate personal data
- Erasure of your personal data (the “right to be forgotten”)
- Restriction of processing
- Data portability
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@minevinyl.com with the subject line “Privacy Request”. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the UK this is the ICO.
The MineVinyl SMP (game server)
Everything above describes the website, where your audio stays on your device. The MineVinyl SMP is different: it is a public Minecraft server, and playing on it means some data is processed on our infrastructure like on any multiplayer server.
What the server stores: your Minecraft username and UUID, standard gameplay records (block changes, chat and command logs kept for moderation and grief-rollback, retained for 30 days), and, if you use the in-game pack studio, a record of the pack we generated for you (your UUID, the pack name, and the pack file itself, hosted for download for up to 30 days). Studio packs are built only from our curated, openly-licensed catalogue; the in-game studio does not accept audio uploads.
Where it lives: gameplay data on our game host (BisectHosting), pack files and records on Cloudflare (R2 and D1). Old packs are deleted automatically. If you want your server data removed sooner, use the contact page and include your Minecraft username.
Data retention
We do not retain audio you use in the website generator at all — it never leaves your device. Your consent preference is stored in your browser's localStorage until you clear it or withdraw consent. Retention of technical request logs is controlled by Cloudflare under its own data-retention and privacy policies. We do not independently store or aggregate these logs.
Affiliate links
Some pages may include outbound links to partner services such as BisectHosting. If you click one of these links, you are taken to that third-party website, where they may set their own cookies or use their own tracking in order to attribute the referral. MineVinyl receives no personal data from that click, and the promise that your audio never leaves your browser remains unchanged. The only data stored by MineVinyl itself remains the optional cookie-consent preference described above.
Third-party services
The following third-party services may process data on your behalf:
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery and edge routing, and DNS. Cloudflare serves the website (including static pages and assets) and also hosts the file storage domain
cdn.minevinyl.com, from which the in-browser audio-conversion engine (WebAssembly) is loaded. Your browser requests these files directly from Cloudflare; no audio or personal data is sent in the process. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. - Google AdSense — future advertising if ads are enabled and you have given any required consent
- Migadu — email hosting. Handles email sent to and from our contact address (
hello@minevinyl.com). Any personal data you include when emailing us (such as your email address and the contents of your message) is processed by Migadu on our behalf. See Migadu's privacy policy.
Children
MineVinyl is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
